Business Continuity

Operational continuity you can count on.

SHEMA helps organizations plan, test, and run practical continuity programs so teams can serve customers, meet obligations, and recover quickly from disruptions—whether they’re technical, operational, or environmental.

What we focus on

  • Assess & prioritize: Business Impact Analysis to map critical processes, dependencies, and set RTO/RPO targets.
  • Prevent & reduce risk: Redundancy for key systems/networks, secure remote access, role-based permissions, and clear procedures.
  • Respond & recover: Defined roles and contact trees, simple runbooks, tested backup/DR with cutover/rollback and verification.
  • Improve continuously: Regular tabletop exercises, lessons learned, and updates as the business changes.

Enablers we implement

  • Standardized environments: Consistent configurations across sites and teams for faster recovery and easier support.
  • Work together from anywhere: secure meetings, chat, and file sharing that perform even on low bandwidth..
  • EDI & ERP continuity: Reliable data exchange and order-to-cash/procure-to-pay flows with monitoring, alerting, and failover patterns.
  • Service dependencies mapped: Vendors, carriers, and platforms documented with SLAs, contacts, and escalation paths.

From legacy systems to supported, secure platforms

There are three common approaches; we help you pick the right one per system and risk profile:

  • Big-bang: one-time cutover in a defined window (useful when timing is constrained).
  • Phased: staged releases that reduce risk and ease training (our default for most workloads).
  • Parallel: run old and new in tandem for a period to validate outputs before final switch.

How we work

  1. Discovery (quick): Understand your operations, constraints, and obligations.
  2. Plan: Set priorities, RTO/RPO targets, and a clear sequence of changes.
  3. Build & document: Standardize configurations, establish backups/DR, and write concise runbooks.
  4. Exercise: Tabletop and, where practical, live tests to prove the plan.
  5. Operate & refine: Regular reviews to keep the program current.

What you get

  • A practical continuity plan tied to your real processes
  • Runbooks for incident response, communication, backup/restore, and DR
  • Standard configurations and checklists for faster recovery
  • Exercise reports with actions, owners, and timelines

Results you can expect

  • Shorter outages and clearer decision-making under pressure
  • Fewer bottlenecks in approvals and handoffs
  • Better use of remote work options when travel or access is limited
  • Evidence your leadership and partners can rely on
